DAY 1 – Arrive Dublin: Upon arrival at the airport, meet your Enrichment Journey Guide, who will assist with boarding the bus and transferring to the hotel. After check-in, you’ll have time to get settled in, relax and have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, join your fellow travelers for a city introduction tour. Set off with your Irish Tour Director and drive into the heart of Ireland’s capital city. During this panoramic tour, your Tour Director will point out the interesting public buildings, lovely parks, rows of Georgian houses with their brightly painted doorways, Trinity College, St Patrick’s Cathedral, the city’s museums and the regenerated South Bank. You will then drive across the River Liffey, along O’Connell Street with its Spire and the GPO (General Post Office). This landmark building served as the headquarters to the leaders of the Easter Rising of 1916 and the façade is all that remains of the original building which has remained a symbol of Irish Republic. Return back to the hotel for a welcome dinner. (D)
DAY 2 – Dublin: Today we will take a journey of discovery into the very heart of what makes Dublin the vibrant city it has become. The morning will be taken up by a visit the now world-famous Guinness Storehouse. The oldest brewery in Dublin is laid out over seven floors surrounding a glass atrium shaped in the form of a pint of Guinness. You will be able to see the history of Guinness through various interactive exhibition areas including ingredients, brewing, transport, cooperage, advertising and sponsorship. At the base of the atrium lies a copy of the 9,000-year lease signed by Arthur Guinness on the brewery site. In the Perfect Pint bar, you may pour your own pint of Guinness. After this visit you will be taken into the heart of the city where a free afternoon is yours to enjoy the sights of Dublin. There are countless places of interest to visit, explore, discover and enjoy. Perhaps, you could visit Trinity College, founded in 1592, this ancient and renowned university was modelled after the collegiate universities of Oxford and Cambridge. It is one of the seven ancient universities of Britain and Ireland, as well as Ireland’s oldest university. The college holds the famous and priceless Book of Kells, a 9th Century manuscript known throughout the world. Perhaps, you would wander quietly in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the largest church in Ireland and founded in 1191. There are numerous natural museums and galleries, such as the Natural History Museum or the National Gallery of Ireland. Or, perhaps it is time for some retail therapy! You will then return to your hotel for evening dinner after which you are free to perhaps wander to the lively Temple Bar area of Dublin with its many pubs, restaurants, cafes and live music line the narrow, cobblestone streets. DAY 3 – Dublin and County Wicklow: After breakfast and a restful morning, you will depart the hotel for a short drive to the “garden county” of Ireland, County Wicklow. Driving south from Dublin you will pass under the shadow of the great Sugarloaf Mountain which dominates the skyline, though only 1640 feet high, its isolation from other hills, steep slopes and volcanic appearance makes it appear much taller than it is. Our first stop in the heart of North Wicklow is Glendalough (or Gleann Da Loch, meaning ‘The Glen of the Two Lakes’) is situated in the Wicklow Mountains National Park amidst stunning scenery. The ancient monastery is fascinating, having been founded in the 6th Century by St. Kevin who chose the site because of its beautiful and remote setting in a glaciated valley with two lakes. The monastic remains include a superb round tower, stone churches and decorated crosses. The round tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the area. The site also includes a Celtic High Cross, St. Mary’s Church and St. Kevin’s Church. Your Tour Director will take you on a walking tour through the sacred grounds to see the old churches, St. Kevin’s kitchen and the round tower. After your guided walk you will be served lunch in a local pub, where you can be sure of a warm welcome in this little gem in the heart of Glendalough. After lunch, enjoy a scenic drive through the Wicklow gap with breath-taking views of the Wicklow and Dublin mountains. Twisting and turning through the mountains, wide-open moors blanket the hills with gorse and heather where there’s barely a single tree, so nothing interrupts the stunning views. You will then return to your hotel to freshen up before heading out for a special dinner. Nestled at the base of Dublin’s mountains, enter a traditional establishment for an evening of music, dance performances and folklore, all the while enjoying a traditional Irish meal! (B, L, D)
DAY 4 – Dublin and Boyne Valley: After a leisurely breakfast we will depart for an interesting drive northwards to the placid, historical and scenic Boyne Valley. There, we will stop at a typical Irish family farm, not seen by any other tour group. Ireland as a whole produces enough food for 36 million people, an impressive statistic considering its population of less than 4 million! Lunch will be in a typical local village pub in the village of Slane. After an overview of the Boyne Valley area we will drive east to the sleepy villages of Annagassan and Salterstown, then along the east coastline where families work the soil (mostly growing potatoes and cereals) and fish for a living. A rural pub at the crossroads of Togher is our next stop. This pub is typical of the area, where farmers came late at night for a drink and to share their stories. Here we will listen to a natural and great storyteller, regaling tales of old Ireland and their working day. There will be music at the pub at by a local band named “Farmer Dan” who will entertain you for about an hour. Two drinks of your choice will be served as you are entertained by Seamus Darby, a charismatic host, and the evening is sure to be one of fun and laughter. You will return to your hotel for the evening. Hopefully, spirits will be high with a sing song on the bus returning to the hotel! Dinner at the hotel is included. (B, L, D)
DAY 5 – Dublin and Belfast: This morning we will board the coach for an easy drive north to Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. You will have an overview of this interesting, historical and infamous city. We will drive around West Belfast, the home of the famous (or infamous) Peace Wall where we will have a photo stop. This wall still separates the Protestant, Shankill Road from the Catholic, Falls Road and you will see the famous murals commemorating the past, both good and bad. You will see the famous Queen’s University, Belfast City Hall and the impressive Stormont Government buildings. We will enter the Titanic quarter with the popular museum dedicated to the Titanic. Driving over the Lagan Bridge or along the historic Queen’s Road in the heart of the former shipyard, you will see this stunning piece of architecture. It is no coincidence that the ultra-modern building’s shape resembles the hulls of four ships. The height and position of the building are also a nod to slipway number 2 where Titanic was constructed and the towering presence it exerted over Queen’s Island. Titanic Belfast extends over nine galleries, with multiple dimensions to the exhibition, drawing together special effects, dark rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features to explore. You can explore the shipyard, travel to the depths of the ocean and uncover the true legend of Titanic, in the city where it all began. You will board the bus for our trip back to Dublin with evening dinner en-route at the Monasterboice Inn near Drogheda, noted for its award-winning cuisine. Return to the hotel for an evening at leisure. (B,D)
DAY 6 – Dublin Embarkation: After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the port, where you will board the Celebrity Summit for a 14-night cruise to Boston. (B)

DAY 11 – Reykjavik Shore Excursion: After a late lunch on board, disembark and join the group for an excursion to the Reykjanes Peninsula. After a short circle around the area we will arrive at the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa, where you will spend a luxurious afternoon relaxing in its therapeutic waters. Considered one of the 25 Wonders of the World, a visit to the Blue Lagoon is truly a unique experience. The spa is filled with pleasantly warm mineral-rich geothermal water in the middle of a black lava field, and the high natural levels of silica and minerals give the Lagoon its rich blue color. Remember to bring a bathing suit and change of clothes with you; towels, lockers and showers will be provided. Once you have changed back into your clothes, enjoy dinner at one of Iceland’s best restaurants to enjoy a tasting menu of traditional Icelandic cuisine. Your guide will not only describe the menu, but also entertain the group with stories and folklore. (D)
DAY 12–19 – Cruising onboard the Celebrity Summit (see below for cruise highlights)
DAY 20 – Boston Disembarkation: Enjoy breakfast onboard, then disembark the Celebrity Summit and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
For meals not included in your land programs, all hotels chosen include a restaurant on property where you may relax and enjoy a meal. In addition, your guide is available to make suggestions on nearby dining, shopping or sightseeing.
Cork (Cobh), Ireland: Affectionately referred to as ‘The real capital of Ireland’, Cork is a musical and resilient place where tradition and modernity often meld; where live music and local pride are the order of the day. Navigate Cork’s hilly streets and discover the melody of Ireland’s most talkative citizenry with their signature gift of gab. The seaside town of Cobh is located on the south coast of Ireland in County Cork and is considered one of the world’s most noteworthy, natural harbors. For history buffs, Cork is also a great find. Ring the Shandon Bells inside the 300-year old tower of St. Anne’s Church. Admire the French Gothic spires of St. Finbarre’s Cathedral and stroll through 17th-century alleys surrounded by the River Lee. Ireland’s second city is fast becoming one of Europe’s most playful destinations. You’ll easily find yourself downing a pint of stout in a cozy pub or enjoying hearty Irish favorites at a corner bistro on your Cork cruise. The town also boasts an array of market-source international restaurants serving French, Spanish, and American cuisine. Visit local artisans and witness their skills in the arts of weaving and cutting crystal. Cork is filled with the lore, tradition, and good cheer of Ireland at its best.
Akureyri, Iceland: Akureyri is the country’s second-largest city and one of the country’s most important ports and fishing centers. Known as the Capital of North Iceland, it has a cool café scene, a growing gourmet movement, and a bustling nightlife that proves this city is more than meets the eye. From fabulous summer festivals fueled by the Midnight Sun, like the Akureyri Summer Arts festival (late June-late August), to some of the best skiing this side of the arctic circle, Akureyri, Iceland is a laid-back Nordic city and a study in contrasts. Soar into the blue sky to discover Grimsey Island, home to only 92 residents and thousands of sea birds. The city’s Botanical Gardens is famed for its collection of high-latitude plants and well worth a visit. Explore the ancient lava formations of Dimmuborgir and the geothermal landscape of bubbling mud and hissing fumaroles at Namafjall Mountain. The city is best known as the gateway to Iceland’s natural wonders—thundering waterfalls, gurgling lava fields, snow-capped mountains, sweeping fjords, and robust folk culture. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be the adventure of a lifetime.
Reykjavik, Iceland: Iceland’s capital and largest city is located on the country’s southwest coast at the head of Faxafloi Bay. Settled in 877 A.D., Reykjavik has grown into an important seaport and center of government and education with theatres, museums and observatories. Interestingly, this modern city still chooses to use water from nearby hot springs to heat all of its buildings. You’ll find on your cruise to Reykjavik that the culinary scene is eclectic and awesome. The seafood is amazing just about anywhere throughout the city and traditional Nordic salt cod or fish stews are readily available. But there is no shortage of international culinary favorites like French and all sorts of new Nordic fusion-style options as well. Explore the city’s artistic boutiques for authentic Icelandic souvenirs and trinkets, like music boxes, unique clothing, driftwood furniture and fish-skin handbags.
Qaqortoq, Greenland: The largest town in South Greenland, which can still be covered on foot, offers visitors art, culture, Norse history, boat tours, hot springs, kayaking, and hiking. It’s like an arctic riviera, but with floating icebergs and frolicking whales instead of sandy beaches and palm trees. Next to the central square, with historic buildings and pleasant cafés, Qaqortoq Museum displays a mix of modern art and classic culture. Trek up the hills for a stunning panorama of the area, complete with migrating sea ice. Take an excursion out to the local hot springs. Ahhh, this is the life.
Sydney, Nova Scotia: Sydney, Nova Scotia lies on the northeast coast of Cape Breton Island and is the largest metropolitan area on the island. Founded in 1785 by the British, this small port city has served as home to many immigrants who arrived on Canadian shores through the centuries, including French Acadians, Eastern Europeans, Scotsmen, and Africans. Sydney is the perfect gateway to the beauty and wonder of Cape Breton Island on a Nova Scotia cruise. Just outside the city limits lies a wealth of sightseeing possibilities, including nature walks and museums. Visit the Louisbourg Fortress, the largest historical reconstruction in North America, and relive the life of the first settlers of this region. Discover Cabot Trail and explore the raw unspoiled nature of Canada, breathtaking coastal vistas, kayaking, hiking and much more. Seafood fresh from the ocean and traditional pub fare are always on local menus. Head to the Big Fiddle Market located inside the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion where you’ll find local arts and crafts for keepsakes and souvenirs.
Most days during the land portion will include full-day tours. The overall pace is rather quick, as there is much to see in these regions, however there is a healthy mix of both visits to historical sites and time to enjoy the landscape and scenery. Most days include two meals, allowing the third meal to be at your leisure. All hotels will have a restaurant on property where you may dine, then have the rest of the evening to relax. If you wish to go out, your guide is available to make suggestions for nearby dining.
During the cruise you will have a mix of relaxing days at sea and exciting days on land to explore the port cities. You may choose from optional shore excursions, which will allow for cultural immersion, exotic meals and numerous activities.
The land portion of the trip should be considered moderately active and includes a considerable amount of walking. Enrichment Journeys will do everything in our power to ensure comfort through our third-party providers, including air-conditioned buses and comfortable accommodations where applicable. However, some areas cannot be accessed by coach, so our drivers will get you as close to sites as is legally allowed. Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are strongly recommended. Historical sites often do not have elevators, escalators or ramps due to the age of the building/structure. Steps can be steep and uneven. Wheelchair access at many sites is limited to extremely limited. Based on crowds and traffic, order of visits may be changed. A fold-up wheelchair may be able to be stored on the bus but requires prior arrangements. Motorized wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated on this group program. Guests must be able to transfer from their chair to the transportation. Guides/drivers are not allowed to lift or push wheelchairs, so guests requiring physical assistance must travel with a companion who can assist. For the cruise portion of the trip, passengers will board and leave the ship up stairways and gangways, and you may have to walk a moderate distance to transfer to train, bus and car stations. Time spent on the road and traveling can be long, so you will need to be prepared for stretches of down time in between destinations.
The focus of this Enrichment Journey is traditions and customs, literature, folklore, churches, castles and cuisine. You’ll visit the busy metropolitan city of Dublin, the rich farmland of Boyne Valley and the World-Famous Guinness Brewery. You will encounter dishes and ingredients typical to the region that you may not have encountered before, and you will be introduced to local artistry of the region. Enrichment Journeys encourages an open mind when in unique situations and meeting people abroad. Sometimes the attractions, beaches and cities themselves can be crowded, especially while on the cruise.
While this tour is in the middle of the summer and may see warm days, be sure to bring a good jacket with you as some places, especially Greenland, can still get quite chilly. If you have special needs or physical limitations, you will need to check in with your personal vacation manager before booking the trip. The temperature can vary between day and night, so pack accordingly with items that can be layered

How you handle your currency and financials while on the trip is up to you. Some people prefer to exchange all their money in advance, while others will rely solely on credit cards. Consider calling your bank ahead of time to make them aware of your international travel, especially when using cards or withdrawing money.
These are often readily available, especially in major cities. Some will charge fees on top of what your hometown bank may charge for using ATMs abroad. Look for well-marked machines that have the Visa or MasterCard symbols.
Currency can be exchanged at most banks, if needed. Ask a local host or tour manager if there is a nearby bank that is open.
During your trip, you’ll find that most major credit cards are accepted. Call your specific card issuer ahead of time to find out its limitations and benefits overseas.
Do be aware that some additional charges for mini-bars, laundry and room service will not be included in the tour package. Plan accordingly for these extra charges.
Pack as simply as possible for easy transfers and customs screenings. Check with your domestic and international carriers regarding baggage guidelines, allowances, and check for additional fees. All bags will be screened before boarding flights and the cruise ship.
What to pack
Basics and layers are key to a comfortable Journey. Be sure to check the weather in the destinations you will visit, and pack accordingly. There are always unpredictable variables as well, so make sure you have one sturdy jacket and an outfit for a formal occasion too, just in case.
Here are a few key item to take on your trip:
Luggage Screening Process
To pass through screening, have liquids either in small containers and bagged, or in checked luggage. All valuables necessary for the trip should be on your person at all times, if possible. This includes medications and documentation. We recommend one main bag and a carry-on, per airline guidelines for weight and size.
Have all your bags labeled with your name and address clearly marked. Add something to you luggage that is recognizable in the event your bags are misplaced. You may also consider marking your bags with “Enrichment Journeys” for efficiency.
In many countries, including the US, large liquid containers are not allowed in carry-ons. On the way back into the states, food or agriculture items are prohibited. If you have questions about a certain item, visit www.tsa.gov for a list of items that cannot be packed.
Airport transfers are included as part of your Enrichment Journey. Local representatives will advise you of the departure time from your hotel the night before departure. Generally speaking, arrangements have been made to have you at the airport approximately three hours in advance of departure, though this may vary depending on local circumstances. At the end of the cruise, an airport transfer will also be provided. Please advise your Personal Vacation Manager if you do not require transfer arrangements at the time of booking your Journey.
Some cell phones will work overseas, but incur additional charges for the use. Choose whether you would like to add an international plan by calling your carrier, or consider purchasing a pay-as-you-go phone overseas. However, in some destinations, many smartphones and tablets can pick up wireless internet for free.

Enrichment Journeys offers a comprehensive travel insurance package you can purchase alongside your trip. It eases the mind and lets you cancel your trip for a covered reason up until the departure date with a full refund of the Journey.
The insurance covers a wide variety of incidents, including travel delay, emergency medical services, and even baggage delay. You will also receive a pre-existing medical conditions waiver if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit. Medical Issues and Handicaps
As with any extensive trip abroad, our excursions with Enrichment Journeys will require some physical capabilities, including transfers from cruise ships, walking on cobblestone streets and navigating through some busy cities with guides. Although we encourage all types of travelers to join us, we do ask you are aware of your own physical limitations. Unfortunately, we cannot provide individual care to those who may have walkers, wheelchairs or other aids. Enrichment Journeys also cannot accommodate pregnant women past their six month gestation period.
Please speak with on of our Personal Vacation Managers to see if certain itineraries are suitable for you and your needs. We are happy to suggest other viable options for you that are more accessible.
Per the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, travelers have the right to be reasonably accommodated in terms of tours in public situations. However, the laws do not apply for trips and outside the United States. So you must let Enrichment Journeys know ahead of time of any physical limitations, including information added to our questionnaire that needs to be filled out by all passengers. Failure to inform Enrichment Journeys of these limitations could result in refusal to participate, whether it be at the airport through the airline, on board the ship or at the accommodations booked.
If you have any sort of prescription medication, this should be a number one priority in packing. Bring extra, just in case. A small medical kit is also advisable for quick access to remedy minor aches and pains.
A local host or tour manager will be happy to guide you through the trip and answer all of your questions. Upon arrival to your destination, an Enrichment Journeys representative will meet with the group and go over items such as the daily schedule, weather and local customs.
All hotels booked by Enrichment Journeys are held to a high standard of comfort and quality, in accordance to international accommodation standards and rating systems. However, each accommodation varies so you may experience various types of properties throughout your excursions.
Your identification is one of the most important things you will be carrying on your trip. Passports are required upon entry into Ireland and subsequent countries. Have your passport and visas ready and available at all checkpoints. Scan and copy these documents to print out. It is recommended that you e-mail a copy to yourself and someone back home in the event these items are misplaced. Also, it may be worth bringing an international ID or license.
Passport and Visa
To travel internationally, you must have a passport in good condition, and it must be valid for at least 6 months after the last day of your trip. Visa requirements change frequently and for various reasons. As a result, our Personal Vacation Managers are not always able to provide visa information. The best way to obtain up-to-date information regarding visa requirements is to visit the official US government website for Americans traveling abroad, Travel.State.Gov (Canadian citizens should visit https://travel.gc.ca/, for all other countries please visit your government website or local embassy), which details specific information on the countries you would like to visit, including visa requirements.
You may also use a third-party visa service, such as Expedited Travel. These services require an additional service fee but make the process of applying for a visa much simpler.
Vaccinations are not required by law, but it is recommended to protect one’s health from preventable diseases abroad. When traveling, it is always good to have routine vaccinations up to date for ailments such as chickenpox, measles and the flu shot. Use your discretion and consider your personal medical history when deciding what vaccinations to get. During this excursion, the utmost care will be taken with prepared food, atmosphere and other elements, so the likelihood of contracting diseases is scarce.

You will need an adaptor for some parts of your trip. To see what the plugs will look like at your destination, visit https://www.power-plugs-sockets.com/ and click on each country from the right menu.
You may also need to use a converter. Most countries outside of North and Central America use 220-240 V, whereas the U.S. and Canada use 110 V. However, most chargers these days have a box which will act as a converter so that it can be used in all countries around the world. If your charger box says “Input: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz” then you do NOT need to use a converter (but you may still need an adaptor so that the plugs fit in the socket).
Some hotels may have two and three pronged outlets to use for various appliances. Ship cabins also have outlets for you to use with their converter. However, we recommend having at least one or two adaptors with you, as we cannot guarantee that all hotels will be able to accommodate this.

Iceland uses the Icelandic Krona (kr), currency code ISK
Greenland uses the Danish Krone (kr.), currency code DKK

How you handle your currency and financials while on the trip is up to you. Some people prefer to exchange all their money in advance, while others will rely solely on credit cards. We suggest having at least some local currency with you during the trip, at least enough to take a taxi if needed. Consider calling your bank ahead of time to make them aware of your international travel, especially when using cards or withdrawing money.
Tipping is always appreciated but not always required. Expect several instances throughout the hospitality industry that allow for tipping. Have small bills ready for hotel staff, boat crew, restaurant servers, drivers, guides, and baggage handlers. If you have a meal outside the itinerary or hire a resident driver, a few dollars in the local currency is customary.
Gratuities are included for group meals, at hotels, and at airports. The host, guide, or tour manager can be tipped roughly $8.00-$12.00 USD per person, per day, as can any ship staff member (which is often split at the end of the day by all). Drivers can be tipped $5 USD per person, per day.

With the tour covering a wide range of climates and regions, you will most likely come in contact with heat, rain, fog, wind and/or damp environments.
