Dead Sea – Jericho – Jerusalem

After breakfast, drive to Allenby Bridge and begin our return to Israel. We will drive southward along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for the palaces built by King Herod and for the heroic struggle the of Jewish Zealots against the Romans. We will take the cable car and visit the amazing top. Next will be a visit to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were written and discovered in 1947. After a short visit of the site and an audio visual presentation about the scrolls, we will visit Jericho and then see Mt. Temptation, Sycamore Tree and Tel Jericho which holds the ruins of the city captured by Joshua and the oldest continuously occupied city in the world. Finally we drive to Jerusalem and our hotel in this magic and holy city.
